To get the most out of BABC Midlands membership
At the BABC Midlands we want all of our members to get the most out of their membership with us and utilise the services available. The following points may help you benefit more from the services we provide.
1) Attend events; The BABC Midlands has a varied events programme throughout the year, providing the opportunity to learn more on specific areas through our workshops and seminars, but also the chance to make business contacts and network with leading transatlantic business men and women. Members are also provided the opportunity to participate in the event programmes of all the BABC chapters, at the local member rate. The BABC hosts an annual Transatlantic Business Conference; this enables members to network directly with members from all of the BABC Chapter’s. An events calendar highlighting all BABC chapter events is available on the BABC website.
2) Utilise the database; The BABC has a database consisting of over 3000 companies (more than 10 000 executives), across the UK and US. This database is only accessible to BABC members through a member password. The database has a filter function to aid users in locating other member details. 3) Influence policy issues; Through the BritishAmerican Business Policy Group members have the chance to voice their opinions about policy issues affecting transatlantic / global business. Through the BABC chapters in London and Washington DC the BABC is actively engaged on policy issues on behalf of all of its members. The BABC’s overall goal is to promote open, competitive, markets for our members on both sides of the Atlantic, as well as to achieve specific policy goals that advance the BABC’s members’ interests. Through privileged relationships with the US and UK governments, the BABC engage in a regular dialogue about policy issues of interest to members with decision-makers in government.
4) Become a patron; Being a patron of the BABC could help promote and market your company in a number of ways. Providing recognition for companies that have established a leadership position in transatlantic business and in the BABC, highlighting their business leadership and their contribution to the BABC. Patronage of the BABC also provides a number of benefits, these include:
a. Exclusive recognition on the home page of the BABC website with a link to your corporate website.
b. Complimentary registration, with preferred placement for one executive at the BABC’s Annual Transatlantic Business Conference.
c. Preferred inclusion in guest lists for selected exclusive Ambassadorial-level receptions hosted by the BABC chapters in London, New York and Washington DC.
5) Advertise and sponsor; Take advantage of advertising, sponsorship and preferred partner opportunities. Sponsorship methods vary from annual sponsorship of specific items, providing services such as PR or most commonly event sponsorship. Many types and levels of sponsorship are available. If you are interested in raising your business’s profile, contact us and let us know that you’re considering sponsorship. We can then discuss your target audience and determine the most effective sponsorship package. Sponsorship for events will provide outstanding opportunities to promote your company's visibility, services and products to a large, high-level, transatlantic business audience. General sponsorship benefits include, access to speaker, VIP reception, places at the event, logo/branding on invitation, ticket, menu and exhibition/promotion at the event and access to attendee information. There are also opportunities to provide non-financial support; this may include event hosting, providing speakers and providing expertise and equipment.
6) Discounted products and services; Promote and market your company’s products or services by offering a discount to other BABC members via the BABC’s Member Discounts facility. This facility also allows you to benefit from discounted products and services of other BABC members in such fields as travel, media, business intelligence and consumer.
7) Contact us; At the BABC we hope to aid you in your transatlantic business operation to the best of our ability. If you have an enquiry regarding any aspect of transatlantic trade or the BABC please don’t hesitate to contact us so that we may assist you or put you in contact with the appropriate people. These databases cover more than 500 000 top North American and European companies. These databases are ideal for both marketing campaigns and research projects, because they both provide very detailed information about individual companies and are searchable via various different search criteria. The databases include: AMADEUS and ICARUS.
10) Gain business intelligence; Read the regular updates provided on major trade/economic policy issues. The BABC publishes a policy focus and investment news article periodically to keep its members informed on relevant issues.
