Denise Friend is the head of the corporate finance department in the leading regional firm of professional advisors, Friend LLP, which provides the full range of audit, tax and corporate finance advice and services.

Denise Friend founded the firm in 1983. She was previously an investment controller at 3i Group plc for 3 years. Denise qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse, and is a graduate of the London School of Economics with a degree in Economics.

Denise has over 25 years of corporate finance experience. She has advised companies, institutions and management teams from the UK and USA on numerous transactions in a variety of sectors including manufacturing, construction, retail, media and entertainment, and support services. Denise focuses on mergers, acquisitions and development capital proposals. She is experienced in share valuation work and litigation support, including acting as an expert witness. Denise is currently involved in various special initiatives in the education and healthcare sectors as well as on ‘inward’ investment plans by USA corporates, and the ‘outward’ investment plans of UK companies.

In addition to being a Director of the BABC in the Midlands, Denise is a non-executive Director of the Heart of England Foundation Trust, which is one of the largest hospitals in the UK.
